Our team of Downer, WSP and Cardno engaged Mark to manage our bid for the $300 million Logan City Council Infrastructure Program Alliance, a program that was vital to all three businesses, and one that we knew would be extremely competitive.
During and before the bid period, Mark thrived in managing several significant hurdles including bringing together people from 5 organisations spread over 7 offices and 2 states. He developed and nurtured relationships with key people and created a high performing and very well functioning team. We had 3 levels of review requiring sign off from senior executives within each organisation – Mark ensured that high quality documentation was available for each review. These reviews were all completed on time and were very effective. This was one of the best review processes I have ever been part of and I felt that Mark was able to extract very strategic and effective input from the review team.
Testament to Mark’s coaching skills was his ability to keep the team engaged, creative and productive over 2 month bid period which spanned Christmas. In addition to managing the written submission, Mark also ran the interview and workshop preparation. He was very influential in developing the style and content of presentations as well as improving the presentation skills of individuals.
Overall, Mark’s leadership, project management, coaching ability and structured approach helped our team identify the key program issues, develop innovative solutions and deliver remarkable outcomes for our client. This ultimately led to the successful award of the contract, where our client ranked our submission as the best they received and described it as “outstanding”.
